We recently started work with the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and our supply chain partner Synergize Ltd on an extensive project on our South East National Housing Prime contract. The project, valued at £2.8 million, is to upgrade 102 service family homes and is due for completion in March 2018.
Service family homes in Brize Norton are getting a significant external wall insulation (EWI) upgrade to provide occupants with better insulation, resulting in lower energy bills and a reduction in damp issues. This will also help regulate temperatures in their homes. Other works will also include the replacement of consumer units to improve electrical safety in the properties, roof extensions, the installation of new radiators and new canopies above the front doors.
Our project Manager Chris Daglish is working closely with Claire Sharlot, DIO Housing Estates Manager and Derek Sumner, Site Manager for Synergize Ltd on the project. The project has been split into five work streams, works on stream four, Warwick Close, and stream one, Heron Close, have been completed and the final three streams for Arundel, Windsor and Sterling Close are currently in progress.
An occupant with the completed upgrade, Mr Lenting, said, “I have noticed a difference in the house being warmer since the EWI had been installed. The streets with the EWI works done are brighter and better. It has improved the look of the area.”
