We recently worked with the Defence Infrastructure Organisation and supply chain partner Anglian Building Products on a housing project in Worthy Down. The project, valued around £1.42 million, was completed within thirty six weeks.
More than sixty homes on Blackwell Road have had External Wall Insulation (EWI) installed to reduce damp issues and increase energy efficiency, providing customers with warmer homes and financial savings of around £260 per year. The homes have also had brand new windows and doors to the front and rear of the properties as well as works on the roofs and some had their boilers replaced providing a more comfortable living environment for our customers.
Alexander Pollock, our Area Contract Manager, Steven Noblett, our Senior Project Manager and Alistair Boon, DIO Housing Officer for Aldershot worked together efficiently to ensure the project was delivered on time and to a high quality. Ecology and sustainability surveys were also carried out and regularly monitored to ensure no protected species came into harm during the works. Blackwell Road will also achieve a carbon reduction of over 69kg per year and there will be more efficiency and increased satisfaction for customers following reduced ongoing maintenance and repairs.
Mark Lynchy, Head of Commercial and Contracts at Anglian Building Products, said, “We are pleased to be working with CarillionAmey and the DIO on schemes to improve the living accommodation for our Armed Forces. The success of the project being the strong partnership, the end to end implementation approach, adopted together with the hard work by both project teams. All of which, resulting in a quality project, delivered on time and to budget.”
