Members of our Regional Prime Contract supported a local community project in Leuchars Station recently with our supply chain partners, Richard Irvin Energy Solutions (RIES). The team, led by Asset Controller, Irene Coulthard, revamped a tired looking primary school mural and climbing wall.
The school didn’t have the funds to achieve this project until RIES stepped in and kindly helped sponsor it financially and physically. With the help of three of our colleagues, Norrie McKay, Andy Aird and Willie Goodfellow and a RIES Site Supervisor, James Adams, the project was completed on time, and to a high quality, before the children returned from their summer holidays.
Together, the support both we and RIES provided helped build on the relationship within the community. RIES supplied all of the materials needed to complete the task and carried out the relevant safety checks prior to starting the work. The teams liaised with the school representative and the local Council Project Manager to ensure it didn’t clash with any other projects that were happening over the summer break.
Irene Coulthard, Asset Controller, said, “The result is a fantastic new mural and some really happy schoolchildren. Well done to all who took part in this great initiative.”
Elizabeth Munro, Primary School Teacher, said, “The children were very happy with the changes made and as a consequence, they are now using the climbing wall more regularly.”
