We recently collaborated with supply chain contractor Synergise and Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) to carry out an extensive programme of works in the South West on our National Housing Prime contract.
The External Wall Insulation programme is due to be completed in time for Christmas and includes the upgrade of 148 Service Family Accommodation (SFA) at Innsworth. The properties were upgraded, with funding from DIO, in order to provide the occupant with better heating insulation, resulting in reduced fuel bills, and to help combat damp issues within the SFA.
The 148 properties received new roofs, new doors and windows and new boilers. The works also included the installation of new electrical underground infrastructure to the SFA. Where before this they had overhead electrics provided to the properties, and external wall insulation. This helped to bring the thermal performance of the properties up to current Building Regulation criteria.
Sergeant Stephanie Pender, one of the customers living in the upgraded house, says, “Since the works started with my windows and doors in November, I cannot complain about the workforce and the works throughout. I am really pleased with the results, the house looks great compared to before, so clean and tidy and so much warmer now the insulation has been done. I have noticed that the heating boiler hardly comes on. I am really pleased with the results and so are so many of my neighbours and colleagues at work.”
Mrs Williams, another resident, said, “I would like to say a quick thank you to the team at CarillionAmey. We have had a complete overhaul to our home. It has taken a while but the results are brilliant. We have had our boiler, windows, roof and wall insulation done, it has already proven to save us money, which is great.”
