We recently worked with the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and our supply chain partner, Novus and Wigston Roofing, on a project to upgrade 53 homes in the Central region of our National Housing Prime contract.
The projects were to upgrade 23 roofs in RAF Scampton and 30 roofs in Loughborough to improve insulation. Customers with the roof upgrades will also benefit from a reduction in energy bills and regulated temperatures within their home. The works will also help to combat damp and mould issues.
Senior Project Manager, Daniel Baxendall, managed the project in RAF Scampton alongside DIO’s Gemma Smale and Scott Freer and our supply chain. In Loughborough, Daniel and our supply chain worked collaboratively with DIO’s Arthur Brown. Both projects were completed on time and to a high quality with compliments from both DIO and our customers on the upgrades and quality of workmanship.
The Additional Works that we complete as part of the Facilities Management service that we provide behalf of the DIO have a major impact on the lives of Service families and ensuring that we’re delivering them to a high quality, with minimal disruption, is critical. It’s projects like this that enable us to create a more positive experience for Service personnel and their families living in Service Family Accommodation.
Gemma Smale, Area Housing Estate Manager, said, “I would also like to add my thanks and well done for the workmanship and behaviour of the contractors during this project.”
Warrant Officer Dai Franklin, Service Community Support Officer, said, “I would like to take this opportunity to echo Gemma’s thoughts and thank you all on behalf of those occupants at RAF Scampton who have benefited from your hard work.”
