With many Ministry Of Defence sites closing during the Christmas and New Year period, planning a safe and secure site close down is high on our list of priorities.
Our Site, Area, Project and Supply Chain managers are working closely together to make sure their local teams are aware of the checks they need to make before leaving for the holidays. These can range from simple tasks such as unplugging kettles and microwaves from office areas, to the more robust checks of ensuring plant is locked away and any project work is left secure.
Although many of our staff will be taking annual leave, a loyal and hardworking team will be on hand to deal with any emergencies that may occur over the Christmas holidays. Each of our sites will have ‘on-call’ members of staff who will be ready to attend site quickly if needed.
At our Customer Service Centre in Speke, we’ve recruited extra staff to support us over the busy winter months, regularly reviewing the shift patterns of our team, and checking weather reports so we can prioritise jobs where necessary.
We’ve also provided seasonal refresher training to remind teams of our winter processes which include emergency gritting and storm damage. If an incident does take place on one of our sites, our team in Speke will contact our on-call local site staff who will work with their supply chain partners to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.
