We recently collaborated with the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and supply chain partner Anglian Building Products to begin an extensive project in the South East area of our National Housing Prime contract. The project, valued at £1.3 million, is to upgrade sixty service family homes in Brize Norton, in order to improve their thermal capability.
Homes in Brize Norton are having external wall insulation installed to provide occupants with better thermal insulation and ventilation, result in lower energy bills and help reducing damp issue. The insulation will also increase home comfort by helping regulate temperatures in their homes, keeping them cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Other works also include replacement windows, upgraded consumer units improving electrical safety, roof extensions, new radiators and new canopies above the doors.
We are working closely with Sharlene Randall, DIO, and Brian McQuiston, Anglian Building Products, in order to keep the project on track. Work on York Road, phase one, has been completed to a high standard and phases two and three on Beverley Crescent are in progress and due to be completed in March.
The occupants on York Road are pleased with the works completed. One of our occupants, Hayley Evans who has been stationed at Brize Norton for 16 years, said, “Communication has been fantastic and I can’t fault it. I have found them all very approachable, always ready and willing to help. I have found them very polite. The windows were very quickly changed, much quicker than I imagined. I found the whole process painless and not an inconvenience at all. The new bathroom extractor fan is a bonus and a godsend.”
