21 September 2017: Meet our new Regional Prime South West Regional Operations Director, Gary Hollywell

As part of our ongoing change and improvement programme within Regional Prime South West (RPSW) we are delighted to welcome Gary Hollywell, who is joining the contract as Regional Operations Director.

Gary joins us from Mitie, and has a wealth of experience in Operational Management and Facilities Management/Building services including the delivery of Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) and Fabric services to many clients in the retail, banking, commercial and health care sectors. Having spent five years as Mitie’s Operations Director covering the UK and Ireland, Gary then spent his final year with Mitie, which saw him running as the Operations Director over two areas of the business that were merged together.

We are confident that Gary has the skills to add value to many different aspects of our RPSW contract. In his previous role he had responsibility for the operational delivery of four Regional Delivery units, much like the Regional Prime structure, and was also involved in sales and bid activities for developing contracts. His background has been primarily based around ‘self-delivery’ and his experience in this field will support the current changes taking place in RPSW, both in the initial mobilisation period and more significantly, over the longer term.

Gary’s initial focus will be to provide visible leadership to our teams, to support and drive efficiency and deliver improvements to ensure that the needs of our business and client expectations are met with regards to delivery and profitability.

Right now, I want to continue the good work that Steve Barnes and his team have progressed since the beginning of the contract and I’m trying hard to learn the acronyms that are widely used in the business. I’m also very aware that my arrival may bring some concerns and uncertainty across the area, but I’d like to reassure everyone that my primary objective in joining CarillionAmey is to add ‘personal value’ to what is already a good operation and strive to make it a great one”.

Gary added “The key ingredient of any successful operation is its people and I have certainly seen many examples of great people during my first week. Everyone has been very welcoming and helpful so please come and talk to me, share your thoughts, frustrations and more importantly, your ideas for improvement.”
