We are pleased to announce that Tim Redfern has been appointed as Managing Director of CarillionAmey. He formally took up the role on 25 January following the Joint Venture Board Meeting.
Tim joins CarillionAmey following a number of defence related roles in Babcock International Group where he was involved in delivery of critical programmes and strategic business change. He worked with Carillion in 2009 in a Joint Venture supporting the British Army Royal Engineers and went on subsequently to oversee the Land Training business in Babcock working across the UK defence estate.
In 2015 Babcock acquired Defence Support Group, the Army vehicle repair business, and he spent two years working closely with Defence Equipment & Support and Army Headquarters to ensure that the Army was supported during a busy period of recovery from operations in Afghanistan. His last role in Babcock was to mobilise two aviation contracts with the French Airforce and Norwegian Health Service. Tim is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors and is alumni of the Royal College of Defence Studies.
Tim commented, “I am delighted to join CarillionAmey at this important time in the life of the Joint Venture. The services that we deliver as an organisation remain critically important to both Defence Infrastructure Organisation and our service men and women and their families. My thanks to Phil Shepley for his stewardship of the business over the last few months and I look forward to building on the successes of the past and meeting as many people as I can over the next few weeks.”
