We recently worked with Dodd Group and the Royal Air Force Association to build a plinth for a new memorial stone. The memorial is in honour to Service personnel who lost their lives while serving on RAF Honington in World War Two.
The Royal Air Force Association donated the memorial stone and we donated both our tools and our time and worked with Dodd Group to build the plinth. This project demonstrates our commitment to collaborative working. We were given until the end of April to complete the works and we completed it within two days and the slab was laid a week later, on time, in the Garden of Reflection at RAF Honington on 3rd May 2017.
Iain Cameron, Area Manager, has been with us since November 2016 after a 25 year career in the Forces. He helped on site and said, “The airbase came under a number of bombardments during WW2, one of which resulted in the destruction of an accommodation block on-site. A huge gratitude must be paid to our staff, Dodd Group and the Royal Air Force Association for donating their time and generous donation to honour those Service personnel who lost their lives during WW2.“
